Portland
Christina has wanted to move to Portland since she spent her 1L summer here, and convinced Keenan to love it quickly enough for him to spend his 1L summer here, too. Now, we are excited to share our favorite city with our friends and family from around the country and the world.

Below is a selection of our favorite activities and spots in town.
Head out on the water
Ride the Casco Bay Lines ferry to Peaks Island, then rent a bike for a ride around the island's perimeter, or get a ticket on their mailboat tour or a sunset cruise. Outside food and drinks, including alcohol, are allowed, so pack a picnic! Alternatively, learn about Maine's lobstering industry (and pick up a lobster you can have cooked for you at a sharp discount at nearby Portland Lobster Co.) with Lucky Catch Tours. Please note Lucky Catch requires reservations and often fills up, so book ahead if you're interested!
Soak your feet at Soakology
Nothing feels as luxurious as soaking your feet in a tub of hot, aromatic water and getting a massage while snacking on tea and cookies at Soakology. Is it ridiculous? Probably yes, a little, but it also extremely pleasant.
Downtown Portland has tons of adorable shops to visit. We especially love the multiple independent bookstores, including Longfellow Books, Sherman's, and Print.
Explore the culinary scene
Portland might have the best restaurant scene for a city of its size anywhere. While seafood is an obvious choice, there's phenomenal food from around the world on every corner. Some of our favorites include Papi (Puerto Rican), Izakaya Minato (Japanese), Wayside Tavern (American), and Kuno (Malaysian). For even more ideas, check out the "List View" at Portlandfoodmap.com.
Try a flight at a local brewery or distillery
Portland has the greatest number of breweries per capita in the country, and its fair share of distilleries, too. Even better, they tend to appear in clusters, so you can bar hop your way through town. One of the best places to do this is on Washington Avenue and in East Bayside, near our apartment - check out Hardshore Distilling, Oxbow Brewing, Apres, Rising Tide, Blue Lobster Winery, and Three of Strong Spirits, among others all within a short walk of each other (and Freedom's Edge Cider, where our welcome reception will be held on Friday, August 29th). Or take a curated tour with the Maine Brews Cruise.
VisitThompson's Point
A great outdoor music venue, Thompson's Point is also hosts occasional craft fairs and other community events. It's also home to the Children's Museum of Maine, the International Cryptozoology Museum, and Bissell Brothers Brewing. See a schedule of events here.
Explore the rest of Maine
Preferably not on the day of our wedding, but if you want to extend your stay in Maine, we highly recommend visiting Midcoast Maine, Baxter State Park, or Acadia National Park. Closer to Portland, spend a day at Palace Playland in Old Orchard Beach, visit the Maine Wildlife Center in Gray, or go shopping in Freeport.
